Only as high as I reach can I grow,
Only as far as I seek can I go,
Only as deep as I look can I see,
Only as much as I dream can I be.

Natural Exfoliating Mask

Hi everyone!
Today, I started thinking how much stuff I put on my face on a very regular basis and how little I do to help my facial skin restore. That got me to thinking of what I could do to aliviate this problem without having to spend money or having to go out of home on my day off...Wanna know more? Just keep reading ;)

Every year women (and some men) all over the world spend thousands of dollars every year in beauty products. Most of the money we spend on exfoliators to help our skin is simply ridiculous and most of the materials used in those products, we have in our kitchen.
Sadly, some of us either don't know this or, if we do, we don't know how to apply them.
So, I figured out a way to make a great hydrating exfoliator using simple things found in the kitchen that will help your skin heal and look great for pennies! I just looked in my kitchen for things to put on my face that we know to be benign one way or another. So, I found a few things and created a concoction.

Olive Oil

Olive Oil is the oil least likely to cause allergic reactions. It also has demulcent properties, which means, it helps alleviate minor pain and inflammation. It is also a great skin cleanser and moisturizer. Olive oil has also been proven to act as a preventer of skin tumors as well as skin cancer. One of its main components is Vitamin E, which keeps cells from oxidizing, thus keeping our bodies from looking older.

Brown Sugar

Sugar is the most well-known natural exfoliator. It is a great remover of dead cells and adds softness to any type of skin. It is also a great antibacterial and prevents infection and scarring. Sugar also provides us with Beta-Hydroxy acids (also known as salicylic acid) which is a key ingredient in skin-care products for the treatment of acne and skin-clogging prevention.

Green Tea

Green Tea has a lot of health-promoting properties. Its main component EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate) is an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from UV radiation-induced damage and tumor formation. It can be used as a natural exfoliant, a moisturizer and line reducer.

1 cup boiling Water
2 packets Green Tea (You may substitute with Chamomile Tea)
1 tbsp. Olive Oil
Brown Sugar, as needed (You may substitute with White Sugar)

A cup
A small bowl
A table spoon

1. Place green tea packets in cup and add boiling water. Let them sit for about 8-10 minutes while the tea diffuses into the water and the water becomes lukewarm.
2. Once water has become lukewarm, add a tablespoon of olive oil on a small bowl.
3. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar into the same bowl.
4. Remove the tea packets from the cup. Keep them aside, but DON'T THROW THEM AWAY! We're gonna still use them.
5. Start adding the green tea into the mix slowly until you get a paste-like consistency.

1. Wash your face with lukewarm water

2. Apply mixture to your face in circular motion avoiding the entire eye area. Sugar is too harsh for such a sensitive area.

3. Grab your green tea packets, lay down, and put some comforting music. Make sure your face doesn't touch the pillow.

4. Place the tea baggies on your eyes. They are great to remove puffiness and soften wrinkles :)

5. Chill for 15 minutes and enjoy the calmness.

6. Once the 15 minutes have passed by, remove the tea packets from your eyes. You may throw them away now or if you have plants, just cut the little packet and use it as fertilizer.

7. Rinse your face with lukewarm water and pat dry.

8. Put on your favorite moisturizer onto your skin

9. Enjoy the glowy softness of your face! ^_^
Let me know if you try it and how well it worked for you ;)

Hello! My name is...

Hi! For those who don't know me, my name is Elizabeth.
This is me...

I have had this livejournal for the longest time; however, in the entire time I have had it, I don't think I have posted anything of relevance - all of the things I have placed here previously have been erased because they simply make no sense any longer or because they were just too sad to remember...
So, I have decided to turn this journal into something completely different and fun...I keep thinking of what to do since right now I have so much spare time and little money. I keep thinking, perhaps I should do something that hasn't been done before or, at least, not in the way I hope to do it.
I have been seeing a LOT of YouTube lately. I see all these channels for make-up gurus and looks people could do, but I don't see anyone starting from 'zero'...and I don't mean simply get the necessary skills to put makeup on, but also start with drugstore brands that are affordable to every pocket. I think anyone can make themselves look absolutely gorgeous-looking no matter what brand of products they use. As long as you learn how to use the products the right way.
So, here I am. I have decided to start something simple and fun: a make-up journal. Why not? I know plenty of people who are doing it, but I think I will bring something new to the table, at least I hope so ^_^
So, here's the beginning of a new chapter. Sit, relax, read, experiment, and enjoy!
